The EP7311 is a highly integrated ultra-low-power system on a chip that targets applications such as portable hand-held devices, industrial controls, and general-purpose controls. The core-logic functionality of the device is built around an ARM720T processor with 8-kbytes of four-way-set-associative unified cache and a write buffer. Incorporated into the ARM720T is an enhanced MMU (memory management unit) that allows for support of operating systems like Microsoft Windows CE. The EP7311 also includes a 32-bit real-time clock and comparator.
