The GS1011M is a family of fully certified low power embedded Wi-Fi modules. The module provides a serial UART or SPI interface, enabling connection to any embedded design utilizing an 8/16/32-bit microcontroller via simple commands. It supports data rates up to 11 Mbps, is compliant with 802.11b, and it meets regulatory and Wi-Fi Alliance requirements. Multiple software configurations are available for the stack running on the module.
For applications utilizing a small 8-bit microcontroller host, the module supports a serial to Wi-Fi function and runs full Wi-Fi and TCP/IP networking stacks, completely offloading the host. For applications using more powerful microcontrollers, the networking stack and services can reside on the host while the module provides the IP (internet protocol) to Wi-Fi functionality. The module supports WEP/WPA/WPA2 security, Adhoc, as well as Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). The low power embedded Wi-Fi modules are priced at $25 per unit in quantity of 5, with pricing at 50Ku at $12 and below $10 in Mu.
