Atmel AVR UC3 Block Diagram 1

Atmel's 32-bit AVR UC3 flash-based, real-time microcontrollers with single-cycle DSP capabilities, delivers 91 DMIPS performance at 66 MHz executing from flash and consumes down to 165µA/MHz and 9nA in Shutdown mode. Dual-banked, pipelined flash and dual-port SRAM in the core provide true single cycle execution. UC3's modeless instruction set includes single-cycle multiply, multiply-accumulate, and load/store instructions. The built-in, single-cycle DSP instructions can decode stereo MP3 at less than 25 MHz and AAC at 60 MHz.

Atmel AVR UC3 Block Diagram 2

The Atmel 32-bit AVR core includes power management functions, a MPU (memory protection unit), multi-level priority interrupt controller including NMI (non-maskable interrupt) with fast event handling, and a three stage pipeline that does not require instruction or data caches, data forwarding, hazard detection, or branch prediction. At 1.5 Dhrystone MIPS/MHz and 165µA/MHz, the AVR UC3 is a high throughput, low power 32-bit microcontroller.

The 32-bit AVR UC3 includes debug and trace capabilities including the nanotrace feature that enables trace over JTAG. AVR UC3 devices with Ethernet and USB On-The-Go features are also available. AVR UC3 microcontrollers are qualified for the automotive industry.
