Silicon Laboratories Small Form Factor Block Diagram

The Small Form Factor family of microcontrollers combines a high-speed 8051 CPU, Flash memory, and high-performance analog circuits in a small quad flat no-lead micro package (QFN). These highly-integrated devices target space-constrained, low-power, low-cost applications in consumer, industrial and communications markets. These devices pack functionality and performance into ultra small packages. High levels of analog integration eliminate external components (crystals, voltage references, DACs, RTC, etc.) further reducing size and cost. The architectural implementation of the 8051 CPU is optimized to minimize event response time.

All Small Form Factor microcontrollers include on-chip 2-wire (C2) debug circuitry that provides non-intrusive, full-speed, in circuit debugging of the production part installed in the user's end application. Emulators are never required. The ToolStick offers a fully contained evaluation system in a USB stick. It is a risk free evaluation of Silicon Labs' tool suite that demonstrates the small form factor, mixed-signal microcontrollers.
